My New Favorites & Friends

My New Favorites feature a mix of honky-tonk and Appalachian music that is authentic enough for purists and progressive enough for folks who are ready to hear Merle Haggard or the Allman Brothers played on the old-time clawhammer banjo. Led by award-winning songwriter Jeffrey Benedict, the band is danceable, fun-loving and funny. They feature top-notch fiddling from the young virtuoso, Westley Harris, and sweet vocal harmonies from bass-player supreme Amy Benedict. Jason Carpenter, a one-man-band percussionist, rounds out the sound. My New Favorites have been featured at Merlefest, Bristol’s Rhythm & Roots Reunion, the Blue Plum Festival and the PBS-TV series “Song of The Mountains,” and many other festivals and music venues in Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina.

Join us at Lumac Rooftop Bar for our “& Friends” Concert Series each Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EDT as we showcase the very best regionally and nationally touring musicians. Each month our guest artist will perform two consecutive Thursdays, inviting different musicians to join them each week for a new music experience for every show. No cover charge!
