Kasey Williams
July 23, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
With a sweet voice evoking Ingrid Michealson and smart lyrics like Regina Specktor, singer-songwriter, Kasey Williams reveals a lot about her life and experiences through her music and performance on stage. Originally from East Tennessee, the self-taught musician found herself intensely drawn to songwriting after working as an actress in New York City. Writing and performing her own music began as a hobby for Williams, but after the tragic loss of her father in 2009 she found herself leaning heavily on her music as a tool for healing.
She soon went on to release her debut self-titled EP in 2014 in honor of her father, who was also a musician. Her song “Out of Breath’ was voted Top Ten on Women of Substance Radio, and her songwriting landed her performances in multiple festivals, including the prestigious 30A Songwriters Festival in Santa Rosa Beach, FL featuring artists like Brian Wilson, John Prine, Indigo Girls, Tanya Tucker, & Don McLean.
Williams’ has since released multiple singles as well as her sophomore acoustic EP “On the Road” (2019). She has had the privilege of touring across the United States and Europe with her music and says she feels “at home” on the road. When tours were cancelled due to the pandemic, Kasey took it as an opportunity to reflect and write. She is now gearing up to start recording her debut full length album.
Williams’ lyrics have been described as clever, often humorous and always honest. From her introspective and personal songs like “In too Deep” to her witty Lonely Island style “Taco Rap,” you can expect a dynamic live performance full of story telling, raw emotion and laughter.
